What happens if I miss physical therapy appointments?

Short Answer
Missed appointments are documented and get used the same way gaps do.

Providers record no-shows and cancellations, and those records are produced in discovery. A pattern of missed appointments becomes evidence you weren't as limited as claimed, or that you weren't following medical advice.

It also supports a failure-to-mitigate argument — that some portion of your condition results from not doing what was recommended rather than from the crash.

What to do. Attend as scheduled. If you genuinely can't, reschedule rather than no-show, and make sure the reason is recorded. "Rescheduled due to work conflict" reads differently than a blank no-show.

If cost is the problem, say so. Providers often adjust, and the fact that cost was the barrier belongs in the chart.

If therapy isn't helping or is making things worse, tell the provider rather than stopping. That's a clinical fact worth documenting, and it may change the plan.

The general principle across this cluster: the record is the case. What isn't documented didn't happen, and what's documented badly happened badly.

Reschedule rather than no-show. The reason matters and blanks don't have one. ---
